Botanical Gardens Ekamra Kanan - Bhubaneswar
Botanical Gardens (Ekamra Kanan), Bhubaneswar
Initial Thoughts Upon Arrival
This park was a breath of fresh air in Bhubaneswar! We love visiting the Botanical Gardens for a relaxing morning or afternoon walk. There are countless varieties of flowers, plants, and trees throughout the grounds, and you'll constantly find something new that catches your attention.
Family-Friendly?
Yes. The gardens feature several small playgrounds where young children can burn off some energy and have fun. The playground equipment is a little older, so parents should use their discretion and inspect the equipment before allowing their children to play. We have never had any issues letting our toddler enjoy the playgrounds.
Accessible to Most People?
Very much so. The pathways are well-maintained and accessible for both strollers and wheelchairs, making this an excellent destination for visitors of all ages and abilities.
Money / Costs
We paid ₹40 per adult to enter the Botanical Gardens, and our toddler was admitted free of charge. Children under a certain age may also receive free entry, though it is worth checking current policies when you visit.
Foreigner-Friendly?
Yes. The gardens are easy to navigate, and foreign visitors should have no trouble enjoying their time here.
Overall Impression
The Botanical Gardens offer a beautiful and peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. The grounds are clean, well-kept, and filled with a wonderful variety of vegetation. For an added treat, there is a small café on the property where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while taking in the scenery.
Travel Tips
While you're visiting, be sure not to miss the cactus garden! Located near the café, this semi-enclosed glass structure houses a fascinating collection of cacti and succulents. It is one of the most unique areas of the gardens and was one of our favorite parts of the visit.
